On February 10, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Gomez highlighted the aftermath of the Palisades and Eaton fires that had just been fully contained. He stated that "impacted Angelenos need more than a few months to apply for disaster relief," emphasizing his efforts to push FEMA and SBA to extend their deadline for applications to December 31st "to ensure everyone has enough time to submit their requests."

In another post on February 11, 2025, Gomez criticized former President Donald Trump by sharing that "2/3 of Americans think Trump isn’t focused on lowering prices—and they’re right." He further commented on Trump's activities, stating he was "between golfing and giving your personal taxpayer info to Elon Musk," accusing him of failing to address affordability issues "he's done nothing to make America more affordable."

Later that day, Rep. Gomez expressed concern over data security breaches involving Social Security numbers and bank account information. He remarked that no one desires having their personal data at risk of being hacked or stolen. He described this situation as "one of the biggest illegal breaches of personal data ever" "This is straight up one of the biggest illegal breaches of personal data ever."
