Representative Jimmy Gomez, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently took to social media to discuss several issues pertinent to his constituents and broader national concerns. Representing California's 34th district, Gomez is known for his active engagement with community matters and policy advocacy.

On February 21, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Gomez highlighted his ongoing efforts as the founder of the #RentersCaucus. He stated, "As founder of the #RentersCaucus, I’m fighting to make rent more affordable and keep our #CA34 neighbors housed." He emphasized collaboration with organizations such as Loyola Law School, The Los Angeles Mission, and SMRS LAC to equip residents with necessary knowledge against corporate landlords.

Later that day, Gomez addressed workforce reductions at a key federal agency. On February 21, he tweeted about budget cuts affecting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), saying "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is losing 10% of its workforce to DOGE cuts." He expressed concern over significant staffing reductions impacting teams responsible for ensuring the safety of driverless vehicles like Teslas.

On February 22, Rep. Gomez turned his attention towards senior citizens in his district. He shared concerns voiced by Chinatown residents regarding potential changes to Social Security benefits under former President Trump's policies. In his tweet, he assured constituents that he supports them from Washington D.C. to California's 34th district: "Many of our neighbors are concerned by Trump’s actions... I want them to know I have their back."
