On March 29, 2025, Gomez addressed the issue of rising consumer goods prices in a tweet. He highlighted that "Egg prices are still sky high, inflation is 2.8%, and consumer confidence just dropped again," adding skepticism about Trump’s previous promises, remarking, "Trump said he’d fix this? Feels more like the preview of a recession… #TrumpSlump" .

The following day, March 30, 2025, Gomez accused Trump of sowing misinformation, referring to it as setting up "another Big Lie just like in 2020." He stressed the constitutional limits on presidential terms, emphasizing that "if he won’t leave on his own, we’ll make sure he’s forced out," and called for the firing of Pete Hegseth, referencing an issue he termed "SignalGate" .

On March 31, 2025, Gomez criticized the former administration’s tariff policies, tweeting that "Trump officials can’t help but lie," and labeling tariffs as a tax that burdens working families. He argued that "Trump’s dumb tariffs make everyday goods more expensive, no matter how his admin tries to twist it" .
