Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 34th district, shared his thoughts and activities on social media recently. In a series of tweets, he addressed issues related to Head Start centers and political actions by former President Trump, as well as community engagement during a local celebration.
On January 30, 2025, Rep. Gomez expressed concern over actions by former President Trump that affected Head Start centers. "After Trump’s illegal action, my office and I heard that Head Start centers like this one were locked out of their payment portal and could have been forced to close their doors, not pay educators, and halt these critical services."
In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Gomez mentioned the response to public pressure regarding Trump's actions. "After public pressure, Trump backed down, but the fight isn’t over. As Chair of the @DadsCaucus, I’m fighting to protect working families from his reckless cuts."
Later in the evening of January 30th, Gomez highlighted his participation in a local event celebrating Lunar New Year at Angelus Plaza. "#TeamGomez joined Angelus Plaza’s Lunar New Year celebration. It’s always a pleasure to connect with our neighbors, offer resources and listen to their concerns. Happy New Year #CA34!"
