Sydney Kamlager-Dove, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 37th district, is advocating for the preservation of film production in Los Angeles. Her insights reflect both her political engagement and personal background in the entertainment industry. Kamlager-Dove's recent social media posts encompass a range of topics from local economic concerns to national security issues.

On April 18, 2025, Kamlager-Dove posted on social media about her childhood connection to the theater, citing her background as the daughter of an actress. "My mom was an actress—I was raised in the theater," she stated. Emphasizing the economic significance of Hollywood productions, she remarked, "I know that when productions are made in Hollywood, it’s not just the big stars who benefit—the union members and small businesses who make it all happen see the rewards too." She concluded with a commitment to ensuring that production remains in Los Angeles.

In a brief message dated April 20, 2025, Kamlager-Dove extended her holiday greetings. "Happy Easter! Wishing all who celebrate a joyful day!" she wrote, sharing a positive note to commemorate the day.

Addressing a critical matter of national security on April 21, 2025, Kamlager-Dove commented on developments involving Pete Hegseth. Following recent disclosures, she highlighted, "After Pete Hegseth fired three top aides last week over Signal-gate, it’s now been revealed that Hegseth shared attack plans in yet another Signal chat." Subsequently, she expressed her concern about the risk posed to troops and national security, insisting that Hegseth should be removed from his position.

In addition to her congressional role, Kamlager-Dove has previously served in the California State Assembly and the California Senate. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1972, and has been residing in Los Angeles since assuming office in 2023. Kamlager-Dove received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California in 1994.
