Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, representing California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, has voiced concerns over recent policies through a series of tweets. Kamlager-Dove, who took office in 2023 after serving in both the California State Assembly and Senate, is addressing issues related to humanitarian aid and federal funding.

On January 31, 2025, Kamlager-Dove criticized former President Donald Trump's approach to humanitarian aid waivers. She stated that "Trump’s 'waivers' for lifesaving assistance are a hoax." She further questioned the Secretary of State's role in this matter by asking if they were "in charge over there," highlighting the urgency by noting that "lives are on the line."

Later that day, she posted another tweet with an accompanying link but without additional commentary: "https://t.co/XiM2DN5YCP".

In her subsequent tweet on January 31, 2025, Kamlager-Dove expressed concern about Trump's proposed federal funding freeze. She noted that such a freeze would impact food programs at a critical time when "1 in 4 Angelenos are food insecure & 62% of our children rely on free school meals." She called upon community partners to join her in speaking out against these policies due to their potential human impact.
