Rep. Jimmy Gomez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for California’s 34th district, recently shared his perspectives on social media regarding economic and policy issues. Representing his constituents since 2017 after succeeding Xavier Becerra, Gomez has a background in both the U.S. Congress and the California State Assembly.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Gomez expressed concerns about the stock market's future performance. He stated, "The stock market is going to plummet tomorrow."

In another post on the same day, he criticized potential changes to Social Security administration by influential figures like Elon Musk and cryptocurrency DOGE. Gomez tweeted, "There's nothing to celebrate when Elon Musk and DOGE comes for your Social Security info, aims to privatize SSA, and seeks to fire 7,000 workers. He emphasized that such actions represent "a direct attack on the benefits American seniors rely on."

Further reflecting his critical stance towards certain policy moves, Gomez referred to a recent event as "his 'let them eat cake' moment."
