On March 5, 2025, Rep. Gomez criticized former President Trump's economic policies, stating "Trump said it himself, he wants to give tax breaks for billionaires… and to pay for it he will cut Medicaid for working people." This tweet underscores his concern about the potential impact of these policies on essential services like Medicaid.

In another post later that day, Rep. Gomez highlighted the financial challenges faced by American families due to rising costs of basic necessities such as housing and child care. He tweeted "Housing, child care, groceries—it’s all adding up. But instead of helping, Trump and House Republicans want to cut Medicaid and food assistance while giving billionaires more tax breaks. We need to cut costs for families, not billionaires like Elon Musk."

Additionally, Rep. Gomez expressed his gratitude towards firefighters who have been combating wildfires in Los Angeles. On March 5th, he wrote "Met with LA’s brave firefighters of @UFLAC who put their lives on the line & battled the devastating recent wildfires. Their courage, sacrifice, & dedication saved lives and protected our communities. I’m committed to ensuring they’re supported with all the resources they need."
