On February 14, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Gomez criticized Elon Musk regarding tax contributions and government contracts. He stated that "More than 41 million working families pay taxes and rely on SNAP to feed their kids—both in blue and red states." He accused Musk of avoiding taxes while benefiting from $3.7 billion in taxpayer money through government contracts, questioning, "Who’s the real parasite, Elon?"

In a tweet dated February 15, 2025, Gomez expressed concern over leaked classified national security secrets by unnamed tech figures. He warned about the potential risks posed by these individuals who have access to sensitive personal information like bank accounts and Social Security numbers. Gomez emphasized the seriousness of the situation stating, "This isn’t a joke. Their actions are dangerous."

On February 16, 2025, Rep. Gomez highlighted his support for the transgender community by advocating for policy changes at the State Department regarding gender marker changes on passports. He asserted that "Our trans community makes America stronger" and affirmed his belief that "Trans rights = human rights."
