Representative Jimmy Gomez, known for his work in the U.S. Congress representing California's 34th district, recently shared a series of tweets concerning political and local state issues. Elected to Congress in 2017 to succeed Xavier Becerra, Gomez has a background in the California State Assembly and holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

On April 11, 2025, Gomez highlighted concerns about former President Trump's actions, noting, "Trump was caught on tape admitting that his rich buddies made millions off of his stock market stunt." He addressed the impact of such actions on American families who were anxious about their financial security while the former President allegedly ensured profits for his associates.

In another tweet later that same day, Gomez expressed his opposition to existing tariffs, saying, "I stood up to Trump's dumb tariffs (yep, they’re still there) that are coming for your morning joe." He used this message to underline his stance against policies he views as detrimental to everyday goods.

The following day, April 12, 2025, Gomez celebrated a local achievement in Los Angeles. He stated, "This week I celebrated the grand opening of Lorena Plaza in LA! Almost 50 new homes for unhoused people, veterans & families in the heart of Boyle Heights—built by the community, for the community." He praised the efforts of the involved organizations, including ACOF and @metrolosangeles.

Gomez, 48, born in Orange County, California, currently resides in Los Angeles where he continues his congressional duties aiming to advocate for the constituents of his district.
